ABOUT
FIONA
Fiona Stemmelin was born on April 13, 2000 to Frederic Stemmelin and Florence Oswald. She has been training at Airborne Gymnastics in Santa Clara, California since age 3.
She is currently in 10th grade at Mountain View School.
She will graduate from high school in 2018.
2007
Fiona competed level four. She finished third all-around at both the Judges Cup and Stars Challenge.
She placed first on Beam and the All-Around at the 2007 Level 4 State Championships.
2008
Fiona moved up to level five in 2008. She finished first all-around at the Begonia Gymfest. At the Zone Championships, she won Vault, Bars, Beam and the All-Around.
Fiona won Vault, Bars, Beam and the All-Around at the 2008 Level 5 State Championships.
Because her All-Around score was one of the top six out of every age group, she was named to the State Team. She placed first on bars at all seven of her meets.
Fiona also made the National TOPs Diamond Team in 2008.
2009
Fiona competed level six in the fall of 2009. She won Vault and the All-Around at the Begonia Gym Fest. She won all five gold medals at the Aloha Gymfest. At the Go Green meet, she won Vault and the All-Around. Fiona also won Vault and the All-Around at the Hollywood Invitational. At the Zone Championships, she finished first on Bars, Beam, Floor and the All-Around.
Fiona placed first on Floor and second All-Around at the 2009 Level 6 State Championships.
She made the NorCal State Team.
She also qualified to the 2009 National TOPs A Team.
2010
Fiona immediately began competing level seven in 2010. She finished second All-Around at the Wine Country Classic. She won Bars and the All-Around at the AOGC Invitational. She finished first on Beam, Floor and the All-Around at the Spirit of the Flame Challenge.
At the 2010 Level 7 State Championships, she won beam.
She made her second consecutive National TOPs A Team.
2011
Fiona finished first on Bars at the Fiesta Bowl Invitational. She placed first on Bars and third All-Around at the Gliders Invitational.
At the Spirit of the Flame Challenge, she won Bars and finished second All-Around. Fiona won beam and the All-Around at the Byers Invitational.
At the 2011 Level 8 State Championships, she won Vault and the All-Around.
She earned a spot on the NorCal State Team.
Fiona won Vault, Bars, Beam and the All-Around at 2011 Level 8 Regionals.
2012
Fiona moved up to level nine in 2012. She finished first on Bars and the All-Around at the Long Beach open and Spirit of the Flame Challenge.
She finished first on Bars and second All-Around at the Flips Invitational. Fiona placed third All-Around at the Byers Invitational.
She placed second on Vault and Bars at the 2012 Level 9 State Championships.
Fiona finished first on Vault and fifth All-Around at 2009 Level 9 Regionals.
At Westerns, she placed third on Vault, sixth on Bars, fifth on Floor and eighth All-Around.

2013
Fiona began competing level ten in 2013. She finished first on Floor and third All-Around at the Golden State Classic.
She won Vault and Floor at the Lady Luck Invitational. At the Spirit of the Flame Challenge, she won Beam and Floor. She placed fourth on Bars at the California Classic.
She qualified for State but missed the championship season due to a stress fracture in her lower back.
2014
Fiona finished second on Vault and Floor at the Lady Luck Invitational.
At the Spirit of the Flame Challenge, she placed second on Floor finishing fourth All-Around.
She placed first on Floor at the 2014 Level 10 State Championships.
She placed second on Floor at the 2014 Level 10 regionals qualifying for Nationals.
She finished 9th All-Around (8th at Beam & 9th on Floor) at the 2014 US Junior Olympic National Championships.
2015
Fiona missed the season due to a surgery on her left elbow.
2016
Fiona finished 3rd on Beam and 4th on Bars at the Lady Luck Invitational.
Fiona finished 1st on Beam (with her best personal level 10 score), 3rd on Floor and 3rd All Around at the Arizona Sunrays Invitational.
Fiona scored her best personal level 10 score on Bars at the 2016 Region1 Championships.
